"Healthy Way to Lose Weight"
According to a survey conducted in 1999 about 108 million Americans are overweight or obsessed. This number is increasing at a great speed. This can be checked or controlled if the people know about the risks of being overweight. One of the major risks is being caught by the diseases like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer, arthritis, hypertension etc. These diseases can be prevented by losing weight.
Considering the number of people wanting to lose weight, daily new techniques are entering the market. Most of these do not provide lasting results. Among these there are chiefly dietary drinks foods and supplements or pills. Most of these do not work and if they do the results are not permanent.
A healthy weight loss option is best as it provides lifetime results. Set realistic goals.
Here are some tips for losing weight the healthy way:
1. Do not fast. Dieting is no solution to lose weight. By skipping meals, initially you might feel that you are losing weight but soon you will start feeling weak and dull as there will be insufficient energy or fuel in the body.
2. Start your day in a proper way. Elders believe that first meal of the day is most important, i.e. breakfast. Ahealthy meal in the morning will start providing you energy and it will also help you to burn fat the whole day.
3. Eat small, healthy meals frequently. Instead of taking three big meals it is better to take five small snacks per day. Taking small servings will prevent over eating. This will increase your energy and help you to burn calories faster.
4. Fix an achievable goal. Do not think you can lose 40 pounds in 2 weeks, this is impossible. Your goals should be realistic. If you want to stay healthy the rest of your life then you must eat healthy.
Fix some dieting rules for yourself and follow them.
5. Drink lots of water. To burn fat you need water so you must take in lots of water. It will keep your cells hydrated and healthy.
6. Do not take too much sugar.
You must take lots of fruits and vegetables, some bread, rice or pasta and protein rich foods. Take sweets, sodas and pastries occasionally.
7. Check your fat intake. You do need fats for your body, but healthy fats. You can take olive, peanut and canola oil. . Tuna, salmon and mackerel contain omega-3 fats which are very good for the heart.
8. Exercise. If you have to go nearby do not use your car. Use stairs instead of lift or elevator. Jogging, cycling and skating are very good exercises if you can’t go to the gym and take exercises. If you do regular exercise, you will shed weight naturally.
On the whole if your goals are realistic and you follow these tips you cannot remain overweight.
